The time is NOW to lock the price for the construction. Nielsen Builders has presented a total of $11,508,000, including a $534,000 contingency. The Board of Trustees approved taking the drawings from 80% complete to 100%. This will be finished in August and will set the stage for construction to begin. Construction will begin when the campaign matures to $6 million. With the ever increasing cost of fuel, the Building Committee has included a geothermal system to support the Historic Hotel's heating and air-conditioning. 88 wells will be dug into the earth just south of the kitchen where water will loop out of the Hotel and into God's 55.6 degree F earth. Within 7 years, the $500,000 additional cost for such a system will have been totally recouped in energy savings! We are approaching several businesses for grants to support this exciting development which will significantly decrease the carbon footprint made by Massanetta Springs.
